Vaping's Impact On the Economy
With the proliferation of vaping over the last 10 years, there's no doubt that it has had an absolute impact of the United States economy. This can be attributed to many factors, such as creating tax revenue through the opening of vaping businesses, in local communities, the hiring of individuals to work at vaping retailers, a reduction in individuals that are tobacco-dependent, which contributes to a reduction of associated health care costs, and most importantly, pumping money into the economic marketplace.
The Impact on the Local Community
Wherever vaping merchandise is sold, it generates revenue in many ways. From a tax standpoint, every sale collects state, and local taxes, which contributes to the state coffers. Vaping products requires individuals to be hired to sell the merchandise. Those employees collect a paycheck, which has deductions for payroll and unemployment tax that contributes to the federal coffers as well. There's no doubt that these individuals will spend their checks locally, which infuses more cash into fortifying the strength of the local economy. Though all seems positive for vaping sales, and its impact on the local economy, there are drawbacks, such as a decrease in tobacco sales, across the board, a reduction of collected taxes, which can't be fully replicated or replaced with vaping sales, in terms of dollar amounts. Some "smoke" shops see vaping a threat to their business.
Local Community and Healthcare
There is a correlation between vaping sales, its impact on the local economy and healthcare. As an effective, and practical means of replacement for tobacco usage, vaping assists in reducing the likelihood of enduring serious pulmonary ailments and diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, pulmonary vascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sleep apnea and tuberculosis. Replacing tobacco with vaping, lessens the burden of government to fund, through Medicaid and Medicare costs associated with treatments and therapies for suffering individuals. Continued concern for better health and well-being and the sustained use of vaping merchandise and products, provides for less of an imposition on the health care system, and a boon to the local economy.
Though many still equate vaping as tobacco, the overall perception's that vaping provides benefit to the United States economy. As a result of vaping, new businesses are flourishing, unemployed individuals are now being employed along with an influx of new taxes.
