If you’re new to vaping, you may or may not have heard about the cartomizer and clearomizer. The next thing you’re going to wonder about are the differences between the two. Also, you might just be puzzled by the last 4 letters “code named”: "izer", and what it does in the first place. Now that we got all that out of the way, our mission, since we choose to accept it, is to break both down, so let’s get started.
Both cartomizers and clearomizers are atomizers. There’s your spoiler alert. Atomizers produce vapor and it’s just another way of saying vaporizer. Even some perfumes and common household room sprays make use of atomizer technology.
A cartomizer is the base part of an electronic cigarette containing the liquid cartridge and the atomizer. The cartridge can either be an empty and refillable cartridge or pre-filled with e-liquid. The atomizer is the coiled part of the device that uses heat to turn liquid into vapor. It also contains a filament that sucks in the liquid to be heated. A good agent always has chemistry on their side.
The clearomizer is like the James Bond of atomizers. There are a lot more cool things it has and does that some people don’t even know about. For example, a clearomizer allows you, the user, to watch the entire process of your liquid being heated, turned into vapor, and then sucked out of your vaporizer into your mouth as it seduces your taste buds (what good agent doesn’t know how to seduce) and passes into your lungs.
There are some other distinctions, such as clearomizers are generally made from thinner plastic or glass and without poly filling. Other benefits include:
- See-through technology. You’ll know exactly how much e-liquid you’ve left.
- Clearomizers tend to have an increased size difference than cartomizers, allowing even the most heavy vapor users to stock up for extended amounts of time.
- As stressed earlier, you can see the vapor being vaped when you use your device (there are no top secrets there).
For the growing trend in vaping, clearomizers have become the more popular choice amongst vaping users. And while a clearomizer really isn't so different than a cartomizer or atomizer, it's definitely the best way to bring all your senses into your vaping experience. In the end, both still can’t be good agents without doing what they do best, and that’s allow you to vape.
